Comparison · the form-plus-Venmo setup
Google Forms and Venmo vs enrops: where registrations get lost
A parent fills out your Google Form at 9pm. The last line says "Venmo me to hold the spot." She means to. Then it's bedtime, then it's Thursday. You have a name on a sheet, no payment, and a reminder text to write. She never said no. She got lost between the form and the payment.
Stay on Google Forms and Venmo if this is your first season, you have a handful of families, and matching payments by hand takes you minutes. Move to enrops when families register and then don't pay, when the matching eats your evenings, or when parents ask for a payment plan. enrops is free for businesses.

The cost you don't see
Can Google Forms collect payments?
No. Google's page for Forms lists forms, surveys and response charts in Sheets, and no payment feature. So every family makes two trips: one to your form, one to Venmo or Zelle. The second trip is where they drop, and nothing tells you who started and didn't finish.
The form says 14 signed up. Venmo says 11 paid. Which three?
A payment from "Jess M." with a soccer ball emoji. Whose parent is Jess?
Grandma paid by Zelle from an account with a different last name.
One family paid half. They told you why in a text you can't find.
The roster for Monday is a sheet you rebuilt by hand on Sunday night.
That matching is a job, and you do it for free, every session, at the hour you have the least left. It's a systems problem. You didn't cause it. A form was never built to take money.
For context: across 50 studies, the average documented online cart abandonment rate is 70.22%, and 17% of people who abandoned said the checkout was too long or complicated (Baymard Institute). That is online shopping, where checkout is one flow on one site. A form, then a separate payment request, is a longer road than that.

What does registration software add to Google Forms and Venmo?
One place where the family registers, signs and pays, so the roster and the money agree without you in the middle.

Is Venmo OK for a kids program business?
With a business profile, yes. Venmo's help center says personal profiles may not be used to receive business payments unless authorized, and names two routes: apply for a business profile, or have the sender tag the payment as a purchase. Individual sellers and sole proprietors can open a business profile. It costs 1.9% + $0.10 per payment.
If families are paying your personal profile as friends and family today, the fix is a business profile, set up inside Venmo. That's worth doing this week, whatever you decide about registration.
Zelle is a separate question for your bank. Zelle says your bank or credit union must offer Zelle for your business account type, and that your financial institution sets the fees and the limits.

What does each one cost on a $240 registration?
On the payment alone, Venmo costs less. A business profile keeps you at $235.34 of a $240 payment. enrops keeps you at $232.53 by card, and enrops itself is free for businesses. The difference is $2.81. One family who never gets around to the Venmo costs you $240, which is that difference 85 times over.

When should I move off Google Forms?
Plenty of good programs started on a form and a Venmo handle. Here is how to tell which side of the line you're on.
Stay on Forms and Venmo if
- This is your first season and you have a handful of families you know by name.
- Every family pays in full, right away, and you can match them to the sheet in minutes.
- Your Venmo is a business profile, or your bank offers Zelle for your business account.
- Nobody has asked you for a payment plan, a refund or a receipt.
Move to enrops when
- Families fill out the form and never pay, and you find out by counting.
- You spend evenings matching payments to names, or rebuilding the roster by hand.
- Parents ask to split the cost. enrops payment plans split the total into the installments you set, with no interest, plan fee or late fee.
- You want waivers signed at signup and refunds that come from the registration.
- You want families to pay by card, wallet or bank in one checkout. Pay by bank and save. The price families see first is the price they pay.

Switching is small
How do I move from Google Forms and Venmo to enrops?
There is nothing to migrate. Open your form beside enrops and carry over the program name, dates, price, your questions and your waiver text. Connect Stripe, then swap the link on your flyer. In our July 25, 2026 production test, signup to a live registration link took about 3 to 4.5 minutes.

Have these ready and you'll finish in one sitting

2. The bank account you want payouts sent to.
3. Your EIN, or your SSN if you're a sole proprietor. Stripe asks for it to verify your business.
Questions operators ask before they leave the form behind
Can Google Forms collect payments?
No. Google's product page for Forms lists creating forms and surveys, customizing them and analyzing responses in Sheets. It lists no payment, checkout or refund feature. So the payment happens somewhere else, in Venmo, Zelle, cash or a check, and someone has to match each payment back to a form response.
Is Venmo OK for a kids program business?
With a business profile, yes. Venmo's help center says personal profiles may not receive business payments unless authorized, and that the route is a business profile or the sender tagging the payment as a purchase. A business profile pays 1.9% + $0.10 on each payment received. Checked September 16, 2026.
Can I use Zelle for my program?
Zelle says your bank or credit union must offer Zelle for your business account type, and that fees and limits are set by your financial institution. It also says a payment sent to an enrolled recipient can't be canceled. Ask your bank before you put Zelle on a flyer.
Is enrops more expensive than Venmo?
On the payment itself, yes. A Venmo business profile keeps you at $235.34 on a $240 payment. enrops keeps you at $232.53 by card, and the family pays $247.20, or $244.80 by bank. enrops itself is free for businesses. The $2.81 covers checkout, the roster, waivers, payment plans, refunds and a nudge to families who didn't finish.
When should I move off Google Forms?
When you're matching payments to names by hand, reminding families to pay, or turning someone away from a payment plan because you can't track it. For a first season with a handful of families, a form and Venmo work. Past that, the hours and the families who never finish cost more than the tool.
What happens to the form I already have?
Keep it open for anyone mid-signup, and build your next registration on enrops. There is nothing to migrate. Carry over your program details, your questions and your waiver text, then share the new link. Send us your current form if you want us to draft the first one for you.
Your next family could register and pay in one place.
Create the registration, connect Stripe, swap the link on your flyer. The roster builds itself, and the money lands in your own Stripe account.
